Comments:

This is my third outing with the Baud Boyz team I put together to enhance the
fun. I want to thank all the team members for participating. We had the full
five members for the first time: N8FYL, NX8G/5, W4UK, WB2COY and myself.

Conditions seemed average to me but there was lots of activity and I expected
to do better. I probably should have gone to 80m earlier to beat the rush - by
the time I got there it was bedlam. And I'm still using the quarter wave wire
out the window and a counterpoise wandering around my house. I probably should
put some of my remaining gray cells to work figuring out something better.

I even made notes last year about 80m so I could make better use of it this
time. Did I bother reading the notes? Nah, that's like reading the
instructions. Real men don't.

I noticed something interesting about my last three NAQP-RTTY events. If I
subtract out the 15/10m QSOs (which are declining with the sunspots) my
80/40/20m component is almost constant:

Feb 2016: 314 QSOs
July 2016: 308
Feb 2017: 314

It is said "Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds." Oh, well...
(Just who says that, anyway?)

Guess I've maxed out. I'm not sure what to do to improve except move to a more
favorable QTH with more room and better topology and no need for sneaky
antennas. Or I could enlarge my attic.

Thanks for the good time. These short contests suit me just fine.

73,
Ken, AB1J
