Comments:

This contest started already on 15. February, when Roman RN5M and Adi S55M
arrived to Jamaica. The plan was to add a full size vertical for 160m on top of
the hill and extend existing rotating tower, which holds stacks for 10, 15 and
20m to 40m height and install one horizontal Waller flag on the top of it for
RX on 160m and 80m. In addition to that, we mounted another 10m tower for 10
elements log periodic and one 80m quarter wave vertical because main ant. for
80m is 4 sq. 6Y5GC and bunch of local guys prepared all concrete bases for 160m
vertical and guywiring. The antenna was installed by Roman RN5M and Adi S55M.
Inside of the shack Velimir K3JO completely rebuilt antenna switching with our
newly built DXlog controlled matrix. This allowed us to have a third radio,
which can be used as MTP station or Inband station. The equipment was composed
from 3 x IC7800 and antennas as follow:

160m: 1/4 wave full size vertical+Inverted V
80m: 4 sq. + single 1/4 wave vertical
40m: 2 x 3 EL yagi
20m: 2 x 5 el M2 yagis
15m: 2 x 6 el M2 yagis
10m: 2 x 7 el M2 yagis
Inband: 10 el Log Periodic from ACOM

PA: ACOM 2000A

RX: 40ft boom horizontal Waller flag (which worked fantastic) tnx a lot to NX4D
and N4IS and Adi S55M for his beautiful equipment and capability to measure
almost everything.
I think that 6Y1LZ station is in perfect shape now, tnx to hardworker Roman
RN5M.
We have never saw anybody climb towers so fast and so many times.
He is a hard worker and never says no to any job. If anybody needs antenna
work, this is the right man.
Also thanks to Velimir K3JO for everything he has done to completely automate
the station.
And thanks to Adi S55M who can tune and measure everything.
Also BIG thanks to George 6Y5GC and locals, for help and support us at any
moment.
Our score is about a million down from last year, but the fact is, that 10m
never really opened this time. We made more qso on every other band, but on 10,
we have only 50 hard qso's.
Anyway the contest was fun, and it is nice to have good time with friends.

JAMAICA MAKES ME CRAZY.....MAN !

CU in the next one!
