Comments:

QRP with this segment of the solar cycle is precarious. I started out thinking
that 15 meters might work, but managed only 1 Q in more than 30 minutes, so
quickly decided to move to 20 meters. Possibly could have done better on 40 or
80 meters, but I wanted a "mainly daylight" operation because of my
present medical condition of recovering from a hip replacement.

I did borrow the Michigan QRP Club's call - thanks to Ed, AB8DF, trustee! This
may have given me a slight edge because it will likely be a unique prefix.

Nothing about which to write home, but it was a bit of fun! Set up on back
porch, using my antenna "proven to be a few dB better than a dummy load
buried 6 feet under ground." :)

Conditions were marginal for my KX2 connected to this antenna. There were wide
open spots within the 20 meter band, at least I couldn't hear anything.
Probably there were many stations within these "open spots" because I
tried a few times to "run" with no takers. And, even when calling a
station with 599+ signal level, I'd often find that the other op would "CQ
in my face." Probably some local noise, which my 24 dB lower power
couldn't break through.

But, I managed more than my original goal of 50 or so Q's, and Michigan QRP
club got some publicity, so lettuce see how may QRPers did SOSB/20. And, yep, I
know that SOSB is not fragmented by power level, but CQ often gives a
certificate noting the power level.

Fun, fun, fun for a few hours!
