Comments:

Lots of fun in this one - the first day. 20 and 40 were just excellent the
first day. Not nearly as many Asians on 20 as I hoped for. Saw a couple
comments from W1 remarking on the great JA condx on 20. Didn't get that here.
Managed to blow a padding cap on the amp transmitting into the wrong antenna on
80 the first night so not much there. Took some time off to fix it Saturday
afternoon in expectation of big things after dark. Oops. Worked a couple
dozen Eu on 15 Saturday morning for a pleasant surprise. All western Eu, but
two UA6s snuck in too.

After I fixed the amp, went back on the air on 20 and heard the US stations had
the aurora sound and knew the prop forecast was right after all. Managed only a
handful of Eu on 40 Saturday night. When it took several overs to get HG7t's
call and several more to get the number I started to lose enthusiasm.

It was noisy throughout the weekend from nearby storms, even on 15 Sunday. The
storms never hit me but still a problem. Used a beverage almost exclusively on
40, I'm sure I missed some domestic callers. Unhappy about the number of
callers I had to give up on and I apologize but it was very noisy here. I
appreciate all the effort folks made to copy me with multiple repeats and thank
those that kept repeating for me. Should have worked the 2nd radio harder but I
have trouble coying thru noise with different things going on in each ear.

Sunday I operated sporadically. Don't think I worked a dozen Eu on 20, every
once in a while one would pop in. The highlights of the day were working N8EA
on 6 bands (the only contester I have groundwave to) and a good Es opening on
15 in the afternoon where I worked most of the US and a few SA with skip as
short as OH.

Thanks for all the Qs,
greg/na8v
