The amount of chirp somewhat depended upon oscillator plate tank tuning, but
never able to completely eliminate it. May have to try adjusting the ECO
screen voltage or adjust the cathode tap in the grid tank. There was also an
occasional blip in frequency, perhaps a cranky old mica or the tube itself.
The latter issue is more of a concern than a little chirp!
Always nice to work a dedicated bunch of topband friends... we really are a bit
twisted to persevere through the summer conditions, but it's all part of the
challenge that makes topband an addiction!
