Just wanted to operate a little but the main objective was to test out some low
band receive antenna stuff I have been working on. A lot of beverage
comparisons were done but I think I have a plan of action. It's not like the
old station location where I had 1300 feet of space in all directions. Must
work with the space available and just make the best of it. Built several
temporary beverages of varying lengths for northeast and northwest and spent a
fair amount of time just testing those out to see what is good and what is not.
Sorry to you 5 guys I called on 160....I know I was weak but I did not even
bother to connect the 160m antenna (used the 80).
A lot of work to be done over the next 3-4 months. Preparing to put up 2 more
towers and get the 15 and 40m stuff up on those as well as build the rest of
the beverages now that I have tested my theory and made some conclusions.
Might even throw up a couple of 20m yagis on the 40m tower instead of using the
pair of tribanders on the current 2nd tower.
I did feel a bit rusty at times when CQ'ing but it has been several months
since I even hooked up a radio.
