Decided to try my new IC-7300 using my second best antenna. Forgot to increase
the power from when I was running digital, so ran 50 watts for most of the
contest. Increased it to 100 watts about 3/4 way through. Moved my best antenna
(80-10 m OCF dipole 40 ft up) from my FTdx5000 to the IC-7300 at the same time.
Suddenly there were twice as many stations on the waterfall.
BTW, the IC-7300's waterfall is too small for long contesting. The constant
reach gave me a stiff neck. Better to have it on a computer screen.
