Comments:
Just over 11 hours on the air. Activity seemed way down, probably because I
couldn't hear a thing from Europe this time. Didn't hear any JA stations,
either. All those big-KM contacts missing from the log resulted in my
lowest-ever Makrothen score. My average points per contact was down by 1,300
from last year. And only 170 contacts in total.
This was the first time I have made less than 3,000 points per QSO on 20M.
Pretty bleak.
15M was open well enogh to work 6 stations, but if more operators had been on
the band would have supported plenty of action. Hopefully, lack of
participation on 15M won't be a probelm for CQWW SSB and CW in coming weeks.
Still a ton of fun, even in the wee hours of Sunday morning with rates of a few
per hour on 80M and 40M.
Band conditions like this will make CQ WW contests seem pretty tame this year.
We forget how poor things can get during solar minimum until we're in the midst
of it. And we are definitely down deep in the trough.
