Comments:
Late start because a winter storm stopped us from getting up to Kenora on
Thursday or Friday plus the area had power outages. 20 was unbelievably crowded
but 15 made up for that and a short opening on 10 Sunday afternoon was a welcome
treat.
No tribander/tower here yet so I had to settle for the tribander driven element
and a G5RV. The G5RV failed sometime early Sunday morning so I had no 40 meters
for the last 2 hours of the contest. I'm confident that cost me several
thousand points.
The hillside location, with an excellent takeoff angle from about 45 to 270
degrees azimuth, makes working EU pretty easy. I was astonished by the number
of countries worked with the TS-590S barefoot (54 different DXCC entities). I
do not like SSB contests but this was a decent experience.
