Comments:
Another fantastic CQWW SSB - I’ve been playing in this one since the early 90s
and it never gets old. Very special thanks to W2RE, WW2DX of Remotehamradio.com
(RHR) as well as station owner KA2HTV for use of this newly engineered super QTH
in Lubec, Maine.
This opportunity came up just a few days before the contest and I happily
jumped on it. The Momobeam antennas performed fantastically.
15M really made the weekend great - there was a bottomless pit of EU to work.
This was pretty much the case on 20 as well. The 20M asia opening late the
second day was a big treat as well.
Even with a 4 EL 40M OWA on a 50 foot boom, 40M SSB is still quite a challenge.
Regardless, I had a great time running EU and other parts of the world. The low
bands were solid this year and running split on 80 successfully for the first
time was quite a thrill. One note on 10M, the South American pile-up on Sunday
afternoon was a total treat.
Station:
One K3/0 and N1MM Plus
Antennas:
This station has 140' of rotating Rohn 55 tower with a triple stack of 16
element MomoBeam tri-banders at 125'/90'/55' and a 4 element MoMo Beam 40m yagi
on 50' boom at 137'.
10m - 7/7/7
15m - 5/5/5
20m - 4/4/4
40m - 4 elements
80m - Four Square
160m - 1/4 wave Vertical
See everyone in the CW leg as NR3X from Eastport, ME.
73,
Nate/N4YDU
