Comments:
Had a huge direct lightning strike a few days before the contest. Wanted to do
80 or 160, but the receive array was taken out. Also lost both stack match
controllers and both rotor controllers. The rig wouldn't read out frequency to
log, so had to enter it manually each time I moved. Talk about slow S&P!
Stopped for hours trying to cobble up something to keep operating. Didn't get
started on Sunday until 1730Z
Enjoyed the good parts like working VK/ZL. One EU, no JA, but I thought I heard
JA7OWD just off my CQ freq about 9 minutes before the end of the contest. I
listened until the end, but was not quite able to be sure of the call. He was
peaking due south then. I hadn't tried due south before right at the end. I
usually work him to the SW when conditions are bad.
