K3 / KPA500 - 600 watts
130 foot center fed zepp @ 60 ft, 40 meter dipole @ 50 ft, 20 meter dipole @ 40
feet, 15 meter full wave loop
Rate really slowed down at end. Struggle to get any answers to CQ's or even
find new people to work on the 2nd VFO between CQ's. Missed NNY, PR and VI.
Heard NP3A calling people on 40 CW Saturday night but never synced up with
Eric. N6EE in NNY was on 40 CW at the end but had a huge pileup. Never heard
VI. NL was well represented. Worked VO1HP, VO1AW and VO2RAC. Also good signals
from VY1AAA on 20 CW.
Score is about the same as always in the 900 + QSO range. Just can't seem to
break 1000 contacts. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it to bother to do SS
anymore. It would be nice if there was a class to compete in that you don't
have to go against the guys with big antennas and SO2R. Seems like it's the
same people in the top ten every year. Guess life isn't fair but it's fun to
get a CW contest fix.
