Comments:
First hour was 101 on fifteen. Second hour almost as good.
Switched to twenty and SWR was sky high. Out in the cold I went. Fix took forty
minutes.
Only a few contacts on twenty before switching to forty. Everything okay until
I went to eighty. Again sky-high SWR. Quick look outside showed one 80-meter
dogleg on the ground. No way to fix it in the dark.
Milked forty for all it was worth, but sure missed eighty.
0700 local Sunday, outside in cold and new overnight snow to fix 80-meter
dogleg. Took a cold hour.
Slow going rest of Sunday. Invoked W6SX Prime Directive when it became clear
would not make 1000 QSOs. Switched back and forth between operating and
recreational reading.
Note to self--1000 is an arbitrary number.
