Comments:

This was the second outing of M6T as a multi-multi in the CW leg of CQWW and we
ironed out a few issues from last year. The station was still largely
assembled
following the SSB contest in October, so it was mostly a process of winding
towers up, sorting out a few gremlins which became obvious during the SSB leg,
hunting down inter-station QRM (like the compact fluorescent lamps that were
generating harmonically related wideband QRM on 20m & 15m from 80m and 40m
RF),
and fixing a few items. But " it still pretty fully filled 3 days for a
group
of 6 or so people.

The contest went well with no serious problems. Thankfully the high winds
predicted for Thursday night didn't materialise, but we did find that strong
winds on Wednesday night had snapped one of the guys on our 15m tower which was
two-thirds raised. This was a timely warning and we lowered it and changed the
guys on Thursday. Conditions seemed OK " not brilliant, but not too bad
- other than on 10m (which was very thin), and to some extent 15m which netted
a great country total, but not long deep openings to make a big QSO count.
Certainly better than last year " perhaps not as good as the SSB leg on
HF.

As usual, some of the packet driven pile-ups were difficult /nasty. Lots of
loud stations all calling absolutely co-channel with each other, and with the
weak DX station. Some of them clearly can’t actually hear the DX, but are
desperate for another mult at all costs.

Bob, G4BAH who built the station would have enjoyed this.
