Comments:
I try to get on every New Year's Eve in memory of good friend Bob VE6YR (sk) who
originally got me started in this contest -- and with whom I shared a warm
tradition of SARTG NY greetings in the first wee hours of Day One for years
prior to his passing in December 2009.
Here's a little note about Bob from my website in 2009:

I didn't think I'd work anyone this year, but there were a few on 40M. Notably a
trio of most welcome JAs and Frank ZM2B were workable, helping propel my score
to a lofty 32 points. Also was great to see Lorne VE7RK on in the firt hours of
2018.
It's so cold out that the tower wouldn't rotate all the way around -- had to
work Frank in New Zealand off a side of the rotary dipole, which meant he as
doing most of the work. I suspect I'll find ice jamming the retention jaws when
I investigate tomorrow.
Happy new year to everyone. Let's make 2018 a great year radio-wise and
otherwise-wise.
73 and all the very best from the deep snow and deeper cold of British Columbia.
See you in RTTY Roundup!
