Comments:
This is one of my favorite contests, and this year I was part of the proposed
N1LN team, but half of the team got sick so we had to abort the effort at
N1LN...get better quickly guys!
I decided to punt from home, and have done well in the past, but after running
for a while I noticed although I could hear EU with the Beverages, none could
hear me transmitting from my OCF dipole at 70 ft. At that height it is
basically NVIS, so my conclusion was at my QTH EU was coming in low angle...I
need a 160 vertical! So I decided to have a fun evening with my family instead
and only operated a few hours on Friday. I did basically the same thing on
Saturday, but EU heard me much better so I stayed on longer. Had to quit to
stay on a normal schedule and left with a paltry 357 Qs.
Thanks for the fun and Qs!
