Comments:
As usual with 160M 'Tests, doing only the second night and starting about 00Z
gives a great "fresh meat" burst for the first couple of hours. I had
been laid low with a cold for three days, so I behaved myself and QRT after four
hours Saturday night (11PM local). My body woke me up at 4:30AM (0930Z) and I
decided I was well enough to operate from 1000Z to 1130Z when I had to get ready
for other activities.
Lots of activity. Sporadic band-blanking buzzing noise mostly absent. Condx
pretty good out to about the Mississippi River. Except for AZ and UT super
stations, no QSOs way west until the early morning. Seven mult's in that last
90 minutes.
I was pleased to be on a par with other Eastern stations: a loud NM and a two
loud-enough AB's didn't just CQ in my face; they CQed in everybody's face. Heard
only one European (an F, who must have taken time out from the REF contest) and
one EA8. Only 10-pointers were PJ2 and P4. I did work a KH7. The same guy /W7
in AZ who excited me by answering my 15M CQ in SS SSB 2015, only to flush my
elation when he gave his SECT.
