Comments:
I could not get a run going all day. Often I called CQ 20 or 30 times. It took
a couple tries to get through to most stations. As usual, the SteppIR did not
tune on 40. Nothing happened during daylight hours. Often it took 20 - 30 CQs
to raise someone. Visitors at suppertime.
I was motivated when Scotty reported at about 9pm that he had 100 QSOs. It took
almost an hour to get the 25 QSOs or so to get to 101 so I could tease him for
quitting early. Bill reported his score and went back to bed with lingering
flu. I couldn't possibly make 125 QSOs in the last couple hours to catch him.
By now my only band was 80 and I found a spot and called CQ. A run started - 61
QSOs in 45 minutes, then the rate dropped, but I kept slogging along until I
made it to 202 QSOs. I scanned the bands and very, very slowly worked a few
more until the end.
