Comments:
This was an interesting contest. Obviously, 10 and 15 to EU/Russia were a total
bust. 20 was goo but closed very early, same with 40 with a much more early
closing to EU than usual.
Then some severe storms with very high QRN came through the area in the local
early evening. A very bad cell was only a few KM north of me. Had to disconnect
everything for about an hour due to lightning in the area. The storms moved to
the East which of course is generally right in the direction of EU and most of
Russia. I could hear what sounded like pretty good condx on 80 and 160 in
between static crashes but very tough to complete a QSO. 160 sounded
particularly good from here. Stations loud but took several tries to get a QSO
complete, which would have normally easily been a single send copy.
Hopefully things are better for the WPX next weekend!
Thank You all to for the Q's and it's great to see the RUDX contest gaining
momentum! Need to get some more North American participation to really get Q
counts up.
