Comments:
A big THANK YOU to everyone who called me during the contest. I greatly
appreciate each and every QSO.
I normally work S&P but however the contest presented an opportunity to
try out 2 new wire antennas and CQing. The intention was to casually
work the contest but got caught-up with how well the antennas seemed to
work. Had a one-hour rate of 108 and several others over 50.
The new antennas are both top-fed bobtail curtains with an rf choke at
the feed-point. VERY PLEASED! I have 2 other 2-element phased vertical
arrays with 90 radials under each element. All of the antennas are 10 ga
stranded copper stranded electrical wire. All surplus wire and FREE!
Can't do better than that. All of the antennas are single-band for 40 meters.
Next project is for some beverage or BOG antennas for receiving especially
into the Pacific area.
Had a ball and will see about doing better next year. Thanks again to
