Comments:
Flex 6600M remote via SmartLink, N1MM via VNC, Yagi stacks.
FIRST time ever trying a contest via a sub-optimal remote, and also a FIRST at
using the Flex other than an hour or so of noodling around. Lots of network
dropouts, and the delay is problematic but that is well-known with SmartLink and
I didn't expect otherwise. No sidetone from N1MM keying either... Running went
pretty well though I must apologize for the awkward pauses. S&P was
interesting with the nice big panfall displays and several ways of tuning. Also
the SO2R switching kept putting me in stereo which is not a good thing with my
hearing so I'll have to find out more about how that's supposed to work. Anyway,
this is exactly what the CWT was invented for an I learned a lot in the short
hour. Thanks to Ken for use of the station. This will only get better with time.
