Wow, rough morning. Went to the club house with the idea of trying out the new
Flex 3000 but quickly decided it was too much to absorb in 15-20 minutes so I
fell back on my trusty K3. But the 40m antenna has an terrible SWR and I quickly
decided to abandon 40 for 20 which provided more Europeans than I usually work.
Got a pretty good run going on 20 but I had attached the WinKey to the Flex so
was using the internal keyer of the K3 and the latency was causing many stations
to drop their calls in twice while waiting for the K3 keyer to respond and I
would end up doubling with them -- sorry about that:>)
Hopefully I'll find some time the rest of the day to get familiar with the Flex
and get it on the air in one of these CWTs in the near future.
73 and thanks for the Qs. Always a lot of fun even with the rough spots.
Chuck/NO5W
