Comments:
Having just gotten FT8 working successfully at my station on Thursday, I used
this contest to test and play around with FT8, to see what the contest was like,
and to practice developing skill while operating FT8. Its forced 15-second
exchanges, however, made each QSO seem awfully long--a total time of 1:15, I
think--compared to a :10 CW contest exchange.
I also was frustrated by QSOs where the other person had not checked the
"NA Contest" button, forcing him to expect a longer exchange than my
software expected, which resulted in endless looping and a lost QSO.
Finally, as everyone has said, band conditions were wonderful, with a huge level
of activity.
73, John K4HQK
