Thanks for all the QSOs. All are appreciated. Also, thanks to the DL-DX RTTY
Contest Group for sponsoring the Contest.
Propagation was as expected, except half hour into the Contest while on 20
meters, JA2HYD was worked. Figured the bands were going to be in good shape
even if the propagation forecast was not very encouraging. Well, the
propagation forecast was correct as was somewhat of a struggle for most of the
first 10 hours. Approx., 2000Z the signals from Europe got much louder than
they had been in the previous 9 hours. For several hours 20 was fun and then it
did its usual early evening fade.
Fortunately, here the lower bands were quiet from what they had been during most
of the week due to storms in the area. Enjoyed working 80 meters as just
signals and background noise rather than static crashes.
Took more time off than planned as the weather was too nice to stay indoors.
The temp. was in the 70ties (25C) range and the sky was clear with a slight
refreshing breeze. Close to a perfect day to be outside rather than in the
"shack". Yes, did take advantage of the nice weather for several
prime operating hours:>)
73,
Mike
