Operating category: mobile, single-op, high power (200 W), SSB
I operated from 12 multipliers in MD-DC, plus two other states. In order of
activation, they were:
WDC*#, PGE*, ANA*, BCT*#, BAL*, BCT*, HWD*, CRL*, MON*, FRD*#, WAS*#, ALY*#,
GAR*#, ALY#, WAS#, WV#, VA#
* = 40 m operation
# = 80 m operation
Out of 490 QSOs, 285 unique call signs were worked. 45 stations worked me three
or more times. My top chasers were WN4AFP (16 Qs), KA4FVE (11), WB8WKQ (10),
WB9HFK, AA5UZ, K3TW, and AI4DB (7 Qs each).
Stations in MD-DC accounted for 10% of contacts. Twelve of the 25 MD-DC
multipliers were worked.
Participation overall seemed stronger than last year’s edition, although
it’s hard to compare with the format change from two days to one.
I added an APRS position beacon to my mobile setup for this contest. The APRS
comment field was used to indicate current HF band. A few people commented that
the position and band reporting were helpful.
Thanks for riding along.
