Comments:

This was a last minute entry, putm the 9 elmt beam on roof of Rovermobile Monday
afternoon. Mast clamped into rotator with 1 bolt snapped holding clamshell to
body.
No power for rotator so had to aim vehicle to direction of signals heard or
sought.
The results were surprisingly good.

In the first hour, got 15 qso's including best odx with K9MRI in EN70 @ 638 km,
and soon after, N8XA at 609 km. There was no other rovers on the road on either
side of the border, not usual. A total of 19 qso's in FN04 followed by 6 more
in FN03.
Closest qso's were at 60 km. Average qso distance was 193 km. Heard K1TEO
strong in FN31 but too much noise for him to copy and get a qso. Best to the
east was VA3JWO and VE3KKL in FN25. The band seemed to go flat so at 10 pm I
packed up and headed home.

Thanks to the sponsor, SVHFS and to all who participated and gave points to me
and others. I certainly had fun. Looking forward to mmore Sprints.

73,

Bill VE3CRU/R
