Comments:
The heavy rain along with flash flood warnings we've had for most of the day
subsided by 6:20PM local time gave me the opportunity to raise the antenna on a
painters pole attached to the patio balcony without going back inside drenched.
Worked most of the usual suspects, except for the ones in neighboring grids FN21
and FM29! The 222 MHz band is a really enjoyable band to experience and I wish
more amateurs would discover its uniqueness and use it. Mike, N1JEZ in FN44
answered me again later on during a strong but rather short QSB peak just to say
hello with a solid armchair copy. Caught a couple VE3’s riding similar QSB
peaks as well. Thanks goes to the sponsor for providing the sprints for us to
engage in.
Equipment: FT-991, Demi transverter, Henry 2002 at 500W, and M2 10el yagi up
28ft.
73,
Peter
