Nice race on cqcontest.net, congrats to my competitors: R7AB, S53F, LZ5K..
First time in CQWW RTTY after several efforts in WPX. I have to say I really
enjoyed the contest despite the conditions were average.
Probably score would be better with abt 100-150 QSO's more, but I've never been
able to stay full 48hrs on the radio and this time I also had to take some
breaks for sleep (2 x 3 hrs at least...)
Few more words about the propagation: best opening to NA was at the beggining
and in last 2hrs of the contest. No sunrise peak. Band never really opened to
the West Coast, I have only 9 QSO's with zone 3 and missed a lot st/prov from
that area, but RTTY is not FT8 - if you can't hear you can't work them ;-)
BTW: on Saturday afternoon I had huge reports long path from WA7LNW and N7TR on
RBN for about 20-30mins but no callers at all...
Never heard anything from KH6LCC and zone 32 over the pole; VY1AAA was almost
unreadable, but finally worked KL7SB for zone 1 on Sunday morning, TNX!
Some stats from the log:
292 x W/VE
55 x JA
31 x YB (!)
964 x EU
73's and CU next year!
