Score includes N3LI contacts. The PAQP was a 80/40 contest from SC to PA. Last
year I won the QRP prize, but I didn't feel like going through the pain of
fighting band conditions, QRM etc., this year, so I cranked it up to Low Power.
Saturday was a lot of fun with several mobiles running PA counties including
K8MR, N2CU, K6RYU and KA3QLF. I thought that activity was pretty good this year.
I've got to learn the secret to adding the county line contacts in N3FJP, but I
did it the hard way. From SC, 40m came to party... my favorite band was open to
PA during the entire contest. 80m was fair at night, but I had extremely
difficulty working the mobiles. During late Sunday afternoon during the last 3
hours of the contest, there was an exodus of PA stations to the 80M band. The
result was fewer PA stations available to the majority of the out of state
stations. I did enjoy working a ton of my CW friends on phone for a change.
Thank you Mike, N3LI for all you'v done for the PAQP over the years and the new
PAQP group did a great job this year! 7
