The main purpose of this trip to Bonaire was to continue the rebuild of the
station at the former PJ1B site. PJ1B veterans Jack N4RV, Stu N7ZZ and Charlie
K1XX joined the team this visit, along with team newcomer Uli DL8OBQ. The
operation during the contest was casual, basically to stress test new antenna
systems. Virtually all of Sunday was devoted to antenna work, as part of the
crew was leaving early during the week, and we needed to make best use of their
availability. Thanks to Scott W4PA and Steve PJ4DX for helping us with the
installation effort.
We accomplished a successful and safe installation of 5 el on 10m at 155' and 2
el on 40m at 145' on the first tower and 4 on 15 at 155' and 4 on 20 at 145' on
the second tower.
The team will return in 3 weeks for a more serious operation in CQ CW and more
station building.
