Thankfully the worst of the aurora stayed away from this latitude. Sorry to
hear of the difficulties in KL7 and VY1.
Another SS CW is in the books and this one was great as always. At the contest
start I could hear the W6's running well on 15, but it was just spotlight
propagation for me, so I ended up making 2 QSOs on that band the first day. And
we all got to know each other on 20 meters, didn't we? 80 meters seemed to pick
up the slack later in the night. I could run a little there and the band was
pretty quiet. But I definitely missed the "blitz" start on 15!
The noise and wind came up on Sunday afternoon here, just what I didn't need.
Had a lot of difficulty with QSB on information. And as we all know, asking for
fills is incredibly difficult in this contest.
You can tell that pro football is still pretty popular -- at 1800 UTC and again
at 2100 UTC the rates went to zero! Took an off time each time -- apparently
that's what everyone else did too!
