Comments:
My best SS w/o a sweep. A nearby T-storm forced a temporary QRT.
Missed SS last year due to damage from an excessive surge by a
lightning strike, combined with damage from Hurricane Irma. One
weird anomaly while operating (probably pilot error) was the
mysteriously switching of my PC logger from SSCW to NAQPSSB. Took
me a few minutes to problem-solve. Then later, somehow lost the
USB connection between the radio and PC, which also confused my PC logging
program (and the pilot). Picking OFF times with a strategic purpose in mind is a
challenge when the dog wants to go outside to do her business or when my stomach
wants food and drink. I ignored the DX calling me on 20m for awhile and then
yielded to the temptation and started handing out 599 in an effort to stop
them from adversely impacting my run of NA stations. Finally the DX stopped
calling. When I QSYed to 40m, the DX started calling again! Ditto for 80m!
Apparently some DX doesn't know the meaning of CQSS. None of the DX should
expect a QSL because they were not logged (and my memory isn't THAT good). Tnx
