Comments:
Had a great time just operating part time and all search and pounce.
Encountered some QRN to the East during the second night from storms in the
Atlantic off the East Coast of the US, but exceptional conditions more than made
up for it. The second night was truly one of those special condition nights on
160 meters that we only encounter a few times each year. The band produced very
strong signals from all directions at the same time (Europe, South America, and
Pacific) which was really amazing.
Transceiver: Kenwood TS-180s (100 watts) with 500 Hz IF filter
TX Antenna: 68 foot base loaded vertical
RX Antennas: 3 small point fed pennants (pointing 40, 160, and 300 degrees).
Audio Filter: Hi-Per-Mite active audio filter (200 Hz bandwidth).
