Needed to make a last moment decision staying home with the family instead of
traveling to the station for a long weekend. The only choice remained operating
remote. I was crossing fingers to have undisturbed internet connection
throughout the contest. I have no reason to complain it worked quite well. At
least I did not got mad by the end due to the network hick-ups. The setup has
been improved a lot in the past couple of months, but is still not the same as
sitting there in front of the physical controls for a period of 36 hours. I
still have the hope it will be alike one day.
Finally, managed to achieve fairly similar result like last year in terms of
score and QSO count, even a bit more. Using a MRASZ 90th anniversary callsign it
turned out quickly this contest will not be for S&P.. Breaking a pile-up for
a mult was a real challenge with this scheme of callsign. Operators get confused
because of the double digit number in the middle. I ended this one with a
moderate number of multipliers and almost twice the count of dupes I used to.
People just don't listen; you pull out a callsign from the pile-up, it turns out
it was a dupe while the others are gone..that's when I begin to be a
lunatic.:-/
