Comments:
A frustrating contest -- I was looking forward to increasing my DXCC
and WAS (from ME) numbers but I fell far short: only one new state.
My second ARRL 160 contest with my (sub-optimal) 160 antenna. Mostly
Click and Pounce.
Given that we are at my ME QTH only about a third of the time, we
finally had a chance to do some Fall cleanup -- so Friday and Saturday
saw us raking leaves during the day. I didn't get started Friday
until 7 PM and was so tired that I gave up at 11. Then, I "had" to
attend a Holiday Party dinner Saturday, and it was the local Ham Club!
How DARE they schedule it during a contest...) So I didn't get
started Saturday until 9 PM. Saturday night the band was very noisy.
Again I fell apart at 11. Just getting over a bad head cold did not
help either as I had a hard time concentrating.
Last year my best times were from 6am-7am each morning; this year I
was just too tired to get up! I just barely made half of last year's
score. Oh well, NEXT YEAR!!!
Rig: TS590S
Antenna: 80/160 trapped dipole at 30'
(part of a 160-trap-80 / 30 / 20 / 10 fan dipole)
Log: N3FJP's ARRL 160 Meter Contest Log Ver 4.6
Sorry to miss the YCCC party -- it's a long drive from Maine.
