Comments:

Not exactly my piece of cake but thought it was worth a try.

On Sunday morning I thought I could try to get WSJT to work on the Raspberry Pi.
Took a while to configure the audio interface but finally managed to have it
running.

Setted up VNC so I could remote in from the rest of the house. At that point I
setted the radio on 20m and started calling CQ. Then went in the livingroom and
read a book. Every once in a while I would peek at the screen of the PC to see
if something got worked or not. I would then click to log the contact and start
a new CQ session.

I did many things this weekend. Read some more pages of "Antifragile",
studied a bit, spent some precious time with the YL. I liked it!

I had fun while compiling the software and getting everything to work but, as i
said, I didn't have fun on the air.

As a side note: I am not against FT8 per se. I seldomly use it and I did some
contacts with it while I'm around doing other things at home. Most of the
activity, if you switch on the radio mid week, can be found in FT8 segments.
Lots of people got to work DX with limited stations and it's great. Hope many
will transition to CW/SSB once they got their feet wet o FT8. At the same time I
find myself thinking about contesting and seeing two very different patterns: On
one hand there are 2BSIQ "monsters" hitting the top and focusing for
48h running high rates dual pileup, mastering skills. On the other hand there
are contests that can be "run" without even being on the shack (and
not using more automation than what the program itself gives). Hamradio is cool
because everyonce can have it's share of the fun in this hobby. This is not my
share of fun.

Glad there seemed to be some nice activity.
