Comments:
Tom N7GP (ex-WA8WZG)invited me to his station to evaluate his newly constructed
4-Square receiving array and offer suggestions on station improvement for his
future contest endeavors.
Mission accomplished, as the 80'x80' 4-Square configuration played very well.
Coupled with his other rx antennas, Tom now has several effective diversity
receive options.
I planned on spending 3-4 hours to do my assessment, but ended up staying
longer. A fun time. Great to not rely on packet/RBN and keeping the skills
sharp.
The real highlight of the weekend was hearing xyl Sandy, N7RQ, coming back to my
CQ. That was the first time I have worked her in a contest since before we were
married in 2007.
