Comments:
RU continues to be one of our favorite contests - good participation and a 24
hour period make it almost perfect for 2 people to keep a station running. Found
inspiration to keep pushing watching cqcontest.net again this year. Condx
continue to present a challenge - one of these years we might remember that 10
meters still exists in Ohio. Best hourly rate was 02:00 UTC with 93. The 1100ft
loop continues to impress on 40m and 80m. Brought the SteppIR that died during
WW DX down and replaced it with an OB9-5 OptiBeam at 55 feet. It did what we
hoped it would, enabling us to start making EU 20m contacts by 08:00 ET.
Everything in the shack worked as it should, we stress tested the new Acom 2100
with no ill effects, and we did not run out of beer - but those in whatever
order of importance you want. Hopefully this is a sign of a good contest season
in 2019.
