A fun time! Lots of people must have been home due to the extreme cold. A good
way to spend some "warm" time in a CWT!
40 was in pretty good shape. An unexpected bonus for me-- Some station with a
really BIG signal was tuning up on the freq I was CQ'ing on. When he would stop
tuning the freq was real clear! I could get 5 or so Qso's in- then he would tune
again. I could hear the other CQers leave the freq-then he would stop tuning.
Again-the freq was clear and I could make 4 or 5 Qso's in the clear. Then he
would tune again. This kept going--he was so strong he cleared the freq and
others around it. A strange way to operate-but it worked for me. He never tuned
for more than 50 60 seconds which was enough to drive others away. Is that a
lazy way to stay on a QRG???
