Operated single-band 160m: I was pleased to work two CA, two AZ and one VE6, but
otherwise there was nothing from the West Coast.
The TX antenna was a full-sized quarter-wave vertical with about 60 radials. The
RX antenna was a single 500ft un-terminated Beverage just 4ft above the ground.
Apologies to anyone who called whom I was not able to pull out of the noise. On
Topband you are often aware that "there could be someone in there calling
me, sorry, but I just can't get the call" - hi!
