Comments:

Low-band Wire antennas still down on ground locked in ice and snow.

Sunspot Number = 0, K = 5, Deep and rapid QSB. FEH!

Spent some time in the “ Mosh Pit ” on 20. I played intercollegiate Rugby
when I was younger. It was far more civilized !

How bad was propagation ? After I stopped operating on Sunday, I looked at the
DX Summit spots for KQ2M. Apparently when I first got on ~ 1830z on Saturday,
someone spotted me and NO ONE called ! Saturday ~ 20 minutes operating and ~ 25
qsos. All the rest on Sunday.

A few cool moments though – had a 214 hour despite all the qrm, splatter and
qsb. Was called by A41NN, A61FK and A71AE on Sunday ! THANK YOU ! I had hoped
for the very rare worked all Middle-Eastern “ A ” countries but I never
heard an A9 station. :-)

Rate was hurt by a few that called incessantly over me, over other callers, etc.
I made sure that I never worked them. One I station called over and qrm ’ed
6 consecutive qso ’s but NEVER called when I called CQ or QRZ !

Hard to tell if activity was down this year of if there was a lot of activity
but the spotlight propagation on Sunday ensured that I could never copy more
than 2 or 3 countries at a time ? Strange to hear and work 2 or 3 DL ’ s,
then 3 I ’ s, then 3 EA ’ s then 2 or 3 F ’ s, 2 UA ’ s and back to the
I ’ s again. Equally weird to heard a LOUD OH followed by weak EA ’ s, then
LOUD G stations followed by weak F ’s then a LOUD LY or R7 station. I could
not discern any pattern to the opening. Thank goodness the great propagation
was during the CW contest. I wanted to hang in there for 1,000 q ’ s on 20
but cndx disappeared for a while after 1630z and I wasn ’ t feeling
particularly well so I went qrt.

The rest of the weekend was spent performing very important professional work,
going to see some movies with my XYL and meeting with the insurance adjuster for
my January 20 ice storm claim.

Thanks for the qso ’ s and the mults ! CU in WPXSSB, unfortunately one full
rotation of the sun after this weekend.
