Comments:
Ken decided not to do this sprint, so graciously allowed me to give it a shot
from his station. It would have been better if I could have gone in person (see
SO2R issue below), but I had to pick up my son from airport immediately
afterwards, so did it remotely instead.
This was my first serious attempt at the SSB sprint. 20 was maddening (1 Q in
first 4 minutes)...everything went wrong there, with half the stations
inaudible; on the other hand, everything went right on 40. 80 was in between.
Had a problem with SO2R--each band seemed to be wiping out the other; I found
out afterwards that both amps were being keyed--some issue with the Flex
profiles. So SO2R was more like SO2V.
Once the 20m debacle was over, enjoyed the rhythm of it, and hearing the voices
behind many of the callsigns that I recognized from other sprints.
