Comments:
Using WiFi at a motel is always a crap shoot. I chose a Sleep Inn in Slidell,
LA on my way home from Del Rio, TX. This one worked out better than my
expectations, although I did have to disconnect and reconnect several times
during the FQP when the delay became too long. Once on Saturday and once on
Sunday, the motel logged me out and I had to stop and log back in. Then with 10
minutes remaining, the WiFi shut down for the duration, actually the best time
if it had to happen! Saturday went well with a starting rate of 100/hour, in
fact I had exactly 600 QSOs at the end of hour 6. At the end of Saturday, 864
QSOs and 73 Mults were in the log including all states but WY. Sunday was more
of a letdown than even expected with only 350 QSOs and 11 Mults added.
My N1MM+ display is too crowded and small on the HP laptop and again I
mistakenly moved only my RX frequency when QSYing from a busy frequency. The
RIT indication on my screen is nearly invisible due to its size. All in all, I
was very pleased with the outcome and probably couldn't have done much better
had I been sitting in the chair at home.
