Comments:

I had a catastrophic HD failure during the best run of the contest with 20 and
40m both smoking to Europe. This score is recovered from the live scores
posting page as my log is severely corrupted. The official raw score is about 1
million points less due to a corrupted DXLog file that was not 100% recoverable.

The Eastport station was absolutely flawless. Most of the 40m QSO's, per usual
in this contest, were on the GXP Multi-band antenna with 2 elements on 40. I
felt like I was finally able to push this station as it was intended. Thanks to
Ray and the RHR guys for all of the hard work. Their enthusiasm is infectious,
and this was going to be a helluva contest. If you want to feel like king on
the bands, these Maine stations will do it.

I was about 315,000 points over my last years pace when my HD failed. I am just
now getting over the disappointment and anger. A new PC and a backup networked
PC are already planned. This will not be an issue again at the KL9A QTH.

Opening with a 214 hour (including dupes) was a rush! 2BSIQ with serial numbers
is very hard.
Nice to 15m open a little on Saturday. 20m was really late to open in Maine. I
heard Sunday was much better, which is another big time bummer.

Congratulations to Kevin, N5DX, for another huge score and the USA win.
Already looking forward to the next one!

-Chris KL9A
