Comments:
A most interesting contest. One of my best 6M results in the 22 years
I've done this contest -- AND THE WORST 2M RESULT. 432 was just OK,
although it's only the third year I've been on that band.
It seems like all of the 2M hams I used to hear were on 6M FT8. Yes,
FT8 is great for HF/6M for DX, but it seems to be draining many from
2M and up during contests. I was constantly moving between 6m FT8 >>
6m CW/PH >> 2m >> 70cm but seldom heard much on 2 or 70cm.
Of course, I enjoyed 6M FT8 too -- especially late afternoon Sunday with
Europe and then the West Coast Sunday evening. Three new grids (DM18,
DN10, & EN30, all rovers) to bring my total to 328.
A final comment about FT8. I was amazed at the number of hams who WERE
NOT using the correct FT8 VHF contest SW. Perhaps some were not really
in the contest. Plus the number seen (via the WSJT-X reflector) who had
their SW "fail" because they had not read the instructions for
"RC7".
