Comments:
This is lowest score I've ever achieved in a full-time effort in the August SSB
edition of NAQP. QSB was wicked on all bands and QRN was absolutely outrageous.
Bands are noisy this time of year, but today was simply over the top. I can't
ever remember such super high QRN levels. It made copying most signals very
difficult.
Never felt like I got any traction anywhere, except maybe the first hour.
QRN on 20m ran a solid S5 in the morning, and S7 plus static crashes by
afternoon. 40m and 80m were worse with solid QRN levels of S9+ and static
crashes S9+10 to S9+15. Couple that with mostly weak signals, crazy QSB, and it
was a recipe for frustration. It really killed any hope of rate and made it
difficult to work the second radio.
Thanks to all that hung in there to make the Q.
73, Mitch, K7RL
