Comments:
Tough conditions for sure, but lots of fun nonetheless. Don't have as much time
for radio as I used to, so a good contest is a real treat.
Had some success on 20 in the afternoon, though it didn't seem like there were
too many stations around compared to other years. Everyone was complaining about
the band conditions and they were definitely terrible. Didn't hear a soul on 15
or 10. Went to 40 probably later than everyone else, but had pretty decent
success there. Main disappointment on 40 was that I had a very hard time getting
past the Rocky Mountains to the West Coast. Everyone else was fairly easy, but
took me forever to get CA and OR on 40. Atmospheric noise was pretty bad there.
80 wasn't bad, in spite of all the static. Had a couple of little runs that made
things fun. Never did hear a KH6 all day, which is unusual for me.
Used "Fox" as my name, which was pretty fun. Definitely plan on using
it again in the future. People seemed to get a kick out of it. Had the pleasure
of working fellow Swamp Fox Frank, KG4IGC, on 80, but he was my only SC
station.
Thanks for all the QSO's.
