S&P only or, to be more in tune with reality, S only, as there was a lot of
searching and absolutely NO pouncing:) Started unassisted and LP, but could not
take that much pain and opened that telnet window in N1MM. Which only made me
realize why I do not do it 99% of the time: spots are definitely useless when
you simply do not hear the stations being spotted. I have no idea if the amp (at
~700 W) helped, I kept the list of all CCO members who routinely kept beating me
in the pile ups and everybody is on it, including low power aficionados. The
first highlight was my Sunday evening 20 m opening to Japan: it lasted, and that
is not a figure of speech, 2 minutes, but I worked all 3 Japanese stations I
heard. I did not know I could spin the VFO knob that fast :) The second
highlight was when P40T greeted me with "big signal" and I froze for a
good 15 seconds, because I was sure he talks to someone else:) All in all: great
fun as usual!
