Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB operated Multi-1 HP in 2019 SS CW. We both had non-ham
obligations, but got on for 17 hr.
As has worked well before for us in SS CW, N3UM ran for bulk Qs
and more-common mults and W3GB clicked spots of always-CQing ops
and rare mults. SFI of 71 was above forecast 66-68, and K was 0,
and it showed.
In the first 2.3 hr N3UM ran on 20m. for 122 Qs and 34 mults from
TX to CA, then ran on 40m. for 144 total Qs and 45 mults by 0030Z.
W3GB then did the late shift and got 42 Qs and 18 mults, including
MS on 40 and ME and ND on 80m.
N3UM was on early Sun, 1210-1621Z, and got a total of 15 mults and
164 Qs, 95 running, on 80, 40, and then 20m. W3GB got 29 Qs on 20m.
1730-2000Z, and worked NT, AK, SK, and WY to get us to 82 mults.
Both of us were away 20-2340Z, after which W3GB scraped up 25 Qs on
3 bands by 0100Z and got WV on 80m. at 0015Z for a SWEEP, with 2.8 hr.
to spare. N3UM then ran for 92 Qs 0107-2359, evenly split between 40
and 80m. Lots of fresh meat with under 200 Qs.
We were pleased to almost equal our best SS CW result, in 2016, when
we got 30 more Qs but only 81 mults in 18.4 hours and an SFI of 82 vs
71 this year.
