Comments:
Finally got the antenna up today. The vertical's ground system and string got
cleaned out over the summer, but in it's place put up a G5RV, about 35 feet at
the center, going up and over a 50 foot tree on one end, and down to 8 feet at
the other.
Propagation is everything, but it seemed to play well, especially on 80. 40 was
interesting with a critical skip distance: NA8V, VE3YT, and W1*J were decently
strong, but the Ohio guys were ESP and nothing else closer. Still no 160 meters
here, so things got slow when the pack went there.
Good to get Florida on 80 from K4NMR. I'll be meeting Tom in a week at a CQWW
multiop at K5KG.
